Ultra Security Services, Inc. (USSI) started its operations on 21 March 1988 in accordance with Republic Act No. 5487, otherwise known as the Private Security Agency Law, with the primary objective of providing long- term and top quality security services to its client-companies. These services are focused on bank security such as armored car escort and branch premises, campus security, corporate buildings, hospitals, food chains, and acquired properties. 

Its initial work force in 1988 was a little over 200, and has grown to its current manpower complement of 920. These security personnel are manning UCPB branches, the Head Office and acquired assets in Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, including other commercial clients.

Cocoplans

Cocoplans began its operations on May 1994 and was launched on October 18 1994. Its first product: pension plans tailor made for Filipinos at different income levels. The company grew at a rapid pace in the next few years, as it established business centers nationwide, while steadily increasing its asset base and trust fund. 

In a short span of time, Cocoplans distinguished itself by offering a suite of pension plans and education plans that fit the needs, preferences and capabilities of a wide spectrum of consumers. As of 2011, Cocoplans has stopped selling pre-need plans and is now operating as a servicing company. Cocoplans is now offering other pre-need products like memorial lots, niches and vaults.

Esteemed as the only Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) – Lawyer in the Philippines, Atty. Julio P.G. Bucoy is the Corporate Treasurer and Head of Corporate Finance and Strategy Division Cocolife. Aside from being an associate lawyer at the Picazo Buyco Tan Fider & Santos Law Offices, he has extensive experience in asset management, strategic business and analytics. He obtained Latin honors in Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Economics from the Fordham University in New York, USA and his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law.

Atty. Darren M. de Jesus

Atty. Yebra is the Vice President and Head of Risk Management and Compliance Division of Cocolife and Head of the Risk Oversight Committee of Cocogen. 

He was a former Associate of Sycip Law, and former Junior Partner of the Rosal, Reyes & Associates Law Firm. He was also a Professor of Criminal Law and Public International Law at the University of the East College of Law, as well as a Lecturer of Criminal Law and Labor Law at the Legal Edge Bar Review Center. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Santo Tomas and graduated top of his class in San Beda University, College of Law.

Atty. Darren M. de Jesus

Elected as Director of COCOLIFE on July 7, 2020. Atty. De Jesus is currently the President of COCOGEN Insurance and the Chairman of Cocolife Foundation. He is also the founding partner of  Yebra De Jesus Loon Law Offices. He is a part-time professional lecturer at the De La Salle University on Special Commercial Laws, Negotiable Instruments Law, Obligations and Contracts, Partnership, Agency, and Corporate Law, both in law school and college-level and a Bar Review Lecturer on Special Commercial Laws.

He was formerly the Deputy Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary and Public Affairs Department, House of Representatives. Previous to said present position, Atty. De Jesus was the Head Executive Assistant, Office of the Speaker. 

Atty. De Jesus began his legal career as a litigation lawyer in one of the biggest law  rms in the Philippines, Angara Abello Concepcion Regala   Cru  Law Offices  ACCRALA  , then with the country’s central monetary ity, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Atty. De Jesus was chosen by the US State Department as the Philippines’ representative in the International Visitors Leadership Program  IVLP  in  2018 on “US Federalism and Democracy”, and by China as delegate in the Young Leaders’ Roundtable Discussion in the 2019 Boao Forum for Asia. In 2017, Atty. De Jesus was part of the Philippine delegation to the  World BankIMF Annual Meeting.

He graduated from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law in 2009 and School of Science and Engineering in 2005.

Atty. Josine Alexandra S. Gamboa

Atty. Josine Alexandra Gamboa is an environmental and energy lawyer, law professor and public policy specialist, working particularly in climate change and coastal and fisheries resource management. She is currently a partner in Yebra De Jesus Loon Law Offices where she handles the firm’s portfolio on renewable energy projects, environmental compliance, ESG investing, CSR advising, public policy engagement, and advocacy work.

She became the Manager of Government Initiatives of Rare, an international conservation organization. Her work involves engaging with national and sub-national government agencies and global institutions to create an enabling policy environment for the Philippines to promote and support community-led coastal and fisheries resource management.

Atty. Alex was also previously the Deputy Chief of the Legal Services Division of the Climate Change Commission of the Philippines, where she contributed to government policy and participated in the negotiations in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) process, leading up to the adoption by the Philippines of the Paris Agreement.

She is a professor at the De La Salle University – College of Law, where she teaches Administrative Law, The Law on Public Officers, and Election Law. She trained as a Climate Reality Leader in Manila in 2016 and was one of the Pinoy Mentors to The Climate Reality Project’s Global Training 2020.
